‘Better Angels’ aims to bring civil discourse to divided America

Confrontations between supporters of US President Donald Trump and demonstrators that oppose his policies have often become violent during the US president’s first year in power. While violence between legislators has been less evident, the rhetoric has been steadfastly hostile.

However, groups like Better Angels, a bipartisan citizen’s movement, are trying to bridge the divide by bringing Democrats and Republican Americans together into a working alliance.

Al Jazeera’s John Hendren reports from Virginia.
