Updated March 24, 2020
We are strongly recommending that Better Angels organizers, moderators, and Alliance leaders postpone or cancel in-person Better Angels activities—including workshops, debates, Alliance meetings, documentary screenings, etc.—through at least May 10. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide any updates, if necessary. You may want to consider postponing the event to a future date.
Also, we will not be holding our Better Angels 2020 Convention in Charlotte, NC, from May 28-31, as we had been planning. Stay tuned for an announcement soon about our new plans, which may include a virtual Convention or a postponement to another date. Convention delegates who had already registered are eligible to receive a full refund. Please contact Convention manager David Lapp with any questions: [email protected].
These are tough decisions for us and we don’t take these steps lightly. We know how central our in-person gatherings are to our work. However, we do it with patriotic empathy, knowing how vital it is that we work as one country to defeat this virus. We also do it in a spirit of neighborliness, thinking especially about protecting our seniors and other vulnerable people from this virus.
