An extended argument for the benefits of diversity, framed as a conversation between author-scholar Irshad Manji and her dog Lily.  Manji is a lesbian Muslim refugee of Egyptian-Indian descent.  Lily is old, blind and canine.  None of those labels tell us who they really are.  Manji notes that while labeling sows discord, diversity itself is America’s greatest strength, recognized and protected by the Founders in our systems of government and civic culture.
